in nomine patri, et fili, et spiritus sancti
Don’t ask me to explain my fascination with Christian iconography, okay, I don’t get it either. I have no problem explaining my fascination with Boondock Saints, however, which this is a sort-of-homage to— but do I even really need to? That movie is awesome.
$5 OFF EVERYTHING IN MY SOCIETY6 SHOP!!
Check it out!! For the next couple of days (until November 11th), everything in my shop is $5 off!
Why should you care? First of all, I’ve got some new pieces available… you can buy one of my Dumpling Princess pieces, or maybe that cute tea lady drawing! Secondly— if you’re looking for some nice new wall art, it’s a heck of a deal! For only $25-30, you can grab a piece as big as 20” x 28”— that’s practically a poster! Finally… your purchases help me afford to keep making zines and illustrations, to be able to keep attending conventions, and to keep eating food while doing all of those things!!
Check it out, guys! Limited time only!
I just bought the above-mentioned cute tea lady piece! £15 (including shipping to the UK!) for an 11x16 piece of beautiful original artwork is incredible. Go to it, people.

A piece I drew for promotional postcard purposes during the hurricane! Patterns, sigh!!
Oh my gosh I love this.

The Dumpling Princess comes into her name, and gets a happily ever after to boot!
I love this so much!

one of my classes is a food illustration class and we’ve been keeping food journals! thought i’d scan the best of mine!! i like… food stuff

In this week’s Dumpling Princess illustration, our hero meets her prince! Or perhaps… our prince meets his hero?
While on patrol at the local market, Sorej made the (happy) mistake of doubting Masha’s dumpling-making prowess. Clearly, he is about to eat his words… just as soon as he finishes chewing.

Masha is a baker who falls in love with the prince of her war-loving kingdom. Won over by her kind heart and her amazing dumpling recipe, he proposes to her… but tradition dictates that if Masha wants to marry him, she has to fight the last person to marry into the royal family: his mother. Leader-Consort Zareni is a stern woman who famously lost her left hand fighting for the Leader’s right, and the last thing Masha wants to do is fight her— especially when, orphaned by war at a young age, she has no taste for fighting at all!
Here’s some actual information about the thesis work I’ve been doing! If you’re interested in seeing more illustrations related to this story, keep an eye on the “Dumpling Princess” tag on my blog!
